I'll have to pull this back up. I built a 'minimig' rig a year or so
back and had some issues with slowness, but I won't complain as the project is beyond impressive. I was actually able to run a few demos
from the old amiga mod scene.

Presently, I'm running the 'ao486' now which has, likewise, been
recently improved (_greatly_ improved) with L2/L3 cache options, better sound options, tcp modem and the like... I've been able to play MANY of
my old games, from Ultima to Duke3d with no issues.

I took a break from all that during spring time as my garden and family time outside has won over computing, but I assume you have MISTer then. I have previous version of the fpga that is not capable of runnign ao486.

But what I can tell you after few months break that there are new types of MIST clones that are even more powerful (64MB RAM and stronger version of Cyclone). I'm expecting solid number of upgrades among various cores (Amiga/PC/COnsoles etc.).

Check for names 'MISS fpga' and 'MISTica'.. First one is a board that fits into A500 case and you can reuse original amiga keyboard with its plug interface. making that fpga amiga computer almost a real thing.

I'll jump back to those in the Autumn. Summer ain't helping to prioritize "Wasting" time in front of a monitor.

    cheers,
    h1
