I love playing the ponies. Real or virtual. Don't matter. I was a regular at the local OTB 20 years ago. If I can see myself getting sucked in to the virtual horse racing games.

I was not sucked by racing games. I was into ranch management, rather. Games in which you have to administrate the food, farriering etc, then you train your horses and there are events etc.
Which is quite weird because I actually have real horses heh. I think I miss them when I am on job trips and felt like having some horse experience on the go or something.
Of the ones I have tried, Equine Passion is the one I liked the most. It is in German, but it sucks less time than the alternatives, has a healthy economy, is not pay-to-win, and art is great.
Howrse is fast paced. If you try to play compitetively, you will end up wasting a lot of money in their pay-to-win scheme. It also requires you to spend a lot of time playing, since they have lots of events that require you to log in once and again and again through the day.
Horse Reality must be the worst of the bunch. It is a product of a crowdfunding campaign, but so far they are delivering an unfinished beta product while claiming it is finished... and billing for it. Art is great, but that is the only thing. Most competitions don't work (unfinished code), competitions that work suck (there are no leagues so mostly every horse inscribed competes against each other regardless of ranking), the economy is trashed because the administrators are always interfering. Also they have a strong SJW administration that will kick you if you use a mariachi picture as an avatar or whatever, and then tell the other users not to play with you. I hope the recent Cloudflare crash screwed them big time.
